Anne Arundel Genealogical Society

AAGS Cemetery Committee

As you may know, the AAGS Cemetery Committee, led by Tina Simmons, has done an extraordinary amount of research into Anne Arundel County cemeteries. But as with all genealogical topics, we’re never finished! We could use your help on the following projects:
  • Help summarize cemetery information provided by Tina to put on our website
  • If you belong  to the Maryland Center for Culture and History in Baltimore, we would like to get the records for the Tickner Funeral Home for persons buried in Anne Arundel County
  • Translate information from Hebrew tombstones
  • Provide copies of death certificates if you know of folks who died outside Anne Arundel County, obituaries, and funeral programs of those you know are buried in Anne Arundel County
  • We could use your help photographing tombstones either with cellphones using the BillionGraves app or cameras at Holy Cross, Brooklyn Park; Mt. Calvary, Brooklyn Park; Cedar Hill, Brooklyn Park; Glen Haven Memorial Park, Glen Burnie; and Annapolis Memorial Gardens, Annapolis
St. Anne’s cemetery committee in Annapolis, MD needs you. They are looking to do the first major update in years for both St. Anne’s and St. Anne’s Cedar Bluff cemeteries. If you have information about individuals buried in either cemetery (name, death date or place, plot information, cemetery deed, burial plot receipt, funeral home, or obit), they are interested in hearing from you.

If you would like to help with any of the projects above, please contact Tina Simmons.
