AAGS 2024 Elections - Nominees

Nominee for Treasurer - Adriana Gormly Andrews
Adriana is a native New Yorker who moved to Anne Arundel County with her husband in 2022 to be closer to family. In 2019, she retired from her career as an Assistant Superintendent for Business with several school districts on Long Island, where her responsibilities included budgeting, finance, payroll, facilities, human resources, transportation, and food services, or as she describes it, “everything other than education!” During her 24-year career, she was a regular presenter at NY State conferences on a variety of school business topics. Adriana holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Policy from Cornell University, and a Master of Education degree as well as an advanced certificate in School Business Administration from CW Post University. Retirement is now affording Adriana time to devote to her life-long passion for genealogy. She has earned a certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University, is a graduate of the ProGen study program, and is a regular attendee at various genealogical institutes and study programs. Some recent projects include: a family narrative of a Gormly Irish famine immigrant, bio sketches and reports for Spanish and Irish ancestors, and research and DNA support for family members and friends.
