Mt. Tabor Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery (historic)
(Anne Arundel)
St. Stephens Church Road
Crownsville, Maryland 21032
This was a white church. (Another Mt. Tabor Church on St. Stephen’s Road is African-American.) St. Stephen’s Church Road was formerly Chesterfield Road.   Thomas Snowden deeded land for the church in 1803.  The church belonged to the South River Circuit in the period from 1850-1860.  Sometime in the 1880’s the church was revitalized and became part of the Severn Circuit. The Mt. Tabor church burned in the 1890’s and was never rebuilt.
The area is located between two intersecting ravines.  He thought that originally there were possibly a dozen fieldstones but no inscribed tombstones.  Stones thought to have possibly been part of the church’s foundation were found.
There have been no burials there since at least 1910.
